Linger 0.3.0 · Chrome extension 0.5.0 · Private test build
Web previews and browser save feedback.
Recognize saved pages at a glance, read excerpts in your library, and see when a browser save has reached Linger.
Webpage previews and readable cards
- Chrome saves a page’s cover or current visible view as a local preview, alongside the title and source URL.
- Text excerpts show the original words and source. Pages without a usable cover use a compact text card.
- Saving an existing bookmark again can add its missing preview while preserving your edited title, body, notes and folder.
Feedback where you save
- Extension 0.5.0 adds an in-page panel for saving, confirmed saves, existing bookmarks and failures. The result also explains whether article text or only a link was saved.
- Add an optional personal reason after the save completes. If the reason has since changed in Linger, the extension asks you to save the page again before editing it.
- The macOS app, browser extension and website now share the same Linger mark.
Updating and capture limits
Update the desktop app and reload extension 0.5.0. Previews are collected when you actively save a page; old links are not fetched in the background. Revisit a page and save it again to fill a missing preview. A failed preview does not prevent the text or link from being saved.
These changes are available in the private build. They do not add X bookmark-history import or synchronization.
